Introduction
Today the internet is the largest resource for freedom of information for all users, and in particular for users with disabilities. We therefore attach great importance to giving people with disabilities an equal opportunity to use the information and services on the site, and to creating a better browsing experience.
We strive to make sure our digital services are accessible to people with disabilities, and so we have invested considerable resources in making the site as easy to use as possible, in the belief that every person deserves to live with equality, dignity, comfort and independence.
Responsibility for the use and implementation of the site lies with the site owner and/or anyone acting on the owner's behalf, including for the content shown on the site.
The standard and the level of accessibility
The site was built to meet, as far as possible, the requirements of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Accessibility Adjustments for Service) Regulations, 5773-2013, in particular Regulation 35 on the accessibility of internet services, and the requirements of Israeli Standard IS 5568, which is based on the W3C's WCAG 2.0 guidelines, at level AA.
Our target level is AA under the updated guidelines, WCAG 2.1.
The accessibility menu on the site is an additional aid. The accessibility itself is built into the site's code, so the site is accessible even without turning on the menu, for example with a screen reader or with keyboard navigation.
The site works in the common browsers, in their current versions: Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on computer and phone. For the best browsing experience with a screen reader, we recommend the latest version of NVDA.
What we did on the site
- A semantic structure for assistive technologies: headings in order, marked regions (header, main content, navigation and footer), and a defined language and writing direction (Hebrew, right to left; English, left to right).
- Full keyboard navigation: moving between links and buttons with the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, activating them with the Enter key, and closing windows, such as the shopping bag, the product window and the accessibility menu, with the Esc key.
- A clear indication of the element in focus during keyboard navigation.
- Alternative text for images that carry content, and decorative images and videos hidden from screen readers.
- Text labels for buttons that show only an icon.
- Respect for the operating system's “reduce motion” setting: when it is on, the animations and smooth scrolling on the site are turned off.
- Adapted for phone, tablet and computer, with support for zooming in the browser.
- The opening video on the home page is a mood video, with no sound and no information that does not also appear as text.
Known limitations
We continue to improve the accessibility of the site. It may still contain elements that are not fully accessible, and these are the limitations we know of at present:
- The 3D view on some product pages rotates slowly, and “Stop animations” does not stop it. It is shown only when you choose it, and all the information about the product also appears in the images and the text on the page.
- In the contrast modes, text shown over an image gets a solid background so that it stays readable, and so part of the design changes.
- We are gradually updating the product photos and their alternative text. For some products, the alternative text is still only the product name.
- Third-party services, such as WhatsApp and the payment system, are not under our full control, and their accessibility is the responsibility of their providers.
